Position Overview: The LPN plays a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive care management and medication administration for residents within the Assisted Living environment. This position entails providing personal care services while ensuring the highest standards of resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurate transcription of medical orders and collaboration with healthcare providers to maintain up-to-date Medication Administration Records (MAR).
- Administer medications to residents in accordance with established protocols.
- Manage medication procurement and ordering processes.
- Supervise and recruit medication technicians and personal care aides.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and scheduling that align with resident needs.
- Maintain and update case management documentation.
- Coordinate care efforts with residents, their families, and medical professionals.
- Foster a positive and supportive environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff.
- Address staffing shortages as necessary.
- Ensure that all staff members receive proper training and certification.
- Be available for on-call duties 24/7 for emergencies and managerial responsibilities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a minimum of one year of experience in long-term care or assisted living settings.
- Valid state licensure as an LPN.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in supervising and collaborating within a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Experience working with senior populations is preferred.
- Capable of making informed decisions in the best interest of residents.
- Physical ability to lift weights ranging from 25 to 35 pounds.
