About the Role

Environmental Consultants, LLC is seeking a skilled Electric Powerline Forestry Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electric power to communities across the country.

Job Summary

The Electric Powerline Forestry Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing transmission line projects, including ROW clearing operations, danger tree assessments, and vegetation management. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement vegetation management plans for clients and landowners.
  • Conduct site assessments and inspections to identify potential safety hazards and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with utility engineers to design and implement infrastructure upgrades and new construction projects.
  • Provide expert advice on utility vegetation management (UVM) best practices to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Forestry or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of forestry principles, including tree identification, forest ecology, and silviculture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-5 years of experience in UVM or related field.
  • Certification as an ISA Arborist or Registered Forester.
  • Prior experience using GIS software.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.

Work Environment

The Electric Powerline Forestry Specialist will work primarily in an outdoor field environment, with frequent travel to project sites. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 60 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a variety of weather conditions.
