North American Steel Expert Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable North American Steel Expert to join our team. As a key member of our pricing team, you will be responsible for collecting pricing data, setting price assessments, and writing market commentaries.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the North American steel markets, with a particular focus on the southern US and Mexico. You will work closely with senior colleagues to develop your knowledge and skills, and contribute to the growth and expansion of our industry contacts.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who is passionate about the steel industry and has a strong network of contacts in the region. If you are a skilled communicator, able to work independently and as part of a team, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster knowledge of the fundamentals, supply chain, end-uses and key participants for the North American steel market.
  • Collect pricing data and set price assessments in line with the company's methodology, price specifications and principles, and IOSCO principles.
  • Write market commentaries, news and insight with support from senior colleagues.

Requirements:

  • A high level of written and spoken English.
  • Spanish written and spoken fluency, with a particular emphasis on Mexico.
  • Interest in and understanding of the North American steel markets – experience in the auto or trade sector a plus.
  • An interest in and understanding of financial markets and commodities.
  • Strong networking and communication skills, and good confident telephone manner.

Salary Information: We offer a competitive salary of $75,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience.
