Job Summary

Dorman Products is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee the production activities of our team at our new manufacturing facility. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer commitments are met with quality and delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Review daily production schedules and ensure demands are met through proper scheduling of work.
  • Leadership and Communication: Provide leadership, communication, and expectations for employees to ensure a high level of output and quality.
  • Employee Development: Ensure employees are trained and have the necessary tools to perform their jobs, and periodically review their work to ensure adherence to quality standards and work instructions.
  • Performance Management: Evaluate employee performance, write performance reviews, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure employees are aware of and provided with proper protective equipment, and trained on chemical use and emergency exits in the department.
  • Continuous Improvement: Review data and trends on production and recommend continuous improvement activities to optimize efficiency and quality.
  • Adherence to Company Policies: Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Contact maintenance to resolve equipment issues and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Data Management: Prepare and enter data into and review information in our enterprise resource planning (ERP) system and other relevant tools.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Participate in recruitment activities by interviewing and selecting staff to join our team.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Three years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Education: Advanced education desired.
  • Skills: Strong communication and reasoning skills, strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate others, strong organizational and analytical skills, understanding of lean manufacturing methods, and broad knowledge of quality control and production methods.
  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Office and ERP experience.
