Job Description
Senior Architect Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Architect to join our Albany, NY office. In this role, you will work closely with our team of professionals to deliver projects within financial budgets and deadlines. You will be responsible for managing a team, researching and developing solutions to architectural problems, and creating building designs and highly detailed drawings using the Revit platform.



Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for:



  • Managing a team to successfully deliver projects within financial budgets and deadlines
  • Researching, testing, and developing solutions to architectural problems
  • Managing, producing, and issuing all project documentation, including detailed drawings, reports, specifications, meeting minutes, applications, and contracts
  • Creating building designs and highly detailed drawings using the Revit platform
  • Working closely with a team of other professionals, including MEP engineers, construction managers, estimators, and structural engineers, as well as clients
  • Assessing and commenting on recommendations and information from other project consultants
  • Attending and reporting at site meetings as required and checking on progress
  • Liaising with authorities as required at different project stages, ensuring code compliance and preparing permit applications
  • Attending, reporting at, and chairing design team meetings with other project consultants, as required, and preparing meeting records and agendas
  • Researching materials and specifications
  • Managing design changes by adapting plans according to circumstances and resolving any related issues that may arise during construction
  • Proficiently applying practice-based graphical standards to contract drawings
  • Proficiently working with all conventional aspects of architecture, design layout, building code research, material research, and specification, detailing, and writing reports
  • Proficiently understanding, interpreting, and complying with zoning and building codes with contract documentation coordination
  • Ability to work with design teams on multiple projects at once and meet project deadlines
  • Ability to coordinate work with project engineers
  • Proficiently coordinating building systems with engineering teams
  • Successfully interacting with the design team and following the direction of the Lead Architect/Designer
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • Bachelor of Architecture, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years' experience in a similar role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to take ownership of assignments, work both independently and as part of the team, supporting multiple projects at a time
  • Software proficiencies should include advanced knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Enscape, Photoshop, Sketchup, Bluebeam, and PowerPoint, along with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel primarily)
  • Working knowledge of international building codes. Previous experience supporting industrial facilities projects is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Local candidates preferred. Will entertain relocation for candidates with directly related experience
  • Ability to provide valid work authorization for US employment


Estimated Salary

The estimated salary for this role is $90,000 to $125,000 per year, depending on experience.
