Role Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the healthcare team, delivering expert nursing care to patients in accordance with a Physician's Plan of Treatment, while adhering to the Nurse Practice Act and agency policies. This role reports to the TLC Nursing Supervisor and, in institutional settings, to designated personnel.

Qualifications
  1. Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  2. Current and valid nursing license from the State Board of Nursing.
  3. At least one year of experience in an acute care environment.
  4. Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  5. Mature and responsible character.
  6. Up-to-date knowledge of disease processes and emergency interventions.
  7. Strong observational skills and effective communication abilities.
  8. Good physical and mental health.
  9. Completion of agency employment process and orientation.
Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the RN include, but are not limited to:

  1. Delivering skilled nursing care to patients.
  2. Monitoring and assessing patient and family needs.
  3. Communicating changes in patient condition to the physician and Nursing Supervisor.
  4. Implementing preventive and therapeutic nursing measures.
  5. Educating patients on safety, medication, and rehabilitation procedures.
  6. Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  7. Maintaining current knowledge through continuing education.
  8. Documenting nursing notes and reports accurately and timely.
  9. Collaborating with facility administration and staff.
Performance Competencies

Competency is demonstrated when the Nurse:

  1. Provides nursing care within the State Nurse Practice Act and agency policies.
  2. Develops and implements realistic care plans.
  3. Continuously assesses patients' changing conditions.
  4. Exhibits effective communication skills.
  5. Documents relevant information according to agency standards.
