As a Medical Imaging Technologist, you will provide essential healthcare services by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment. You will perform radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners.

In this role, you will exercise professional judgment and maintain a demeanor that aligns with medical ethics. You will ensure appropriate patient care and recognize conditions essential for the successful completion of procedures. Additionally, you will apply your knowledge of growth and development principles to identify patient and family requirements based on age-specific needs.

Responsibilities of the Medical Imaging Technologist
  • Conduct all diagnostic and screening imaging procedures, including emergency, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable procedures.
  • Assist physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterile techniques.
  • Prepare and administer radiopaque contrast media for radiologic exams.
  • Assess patient conditions prior to and during all radiologic procedures.
  • Perform other department-related duties as necessary.
Qualifications of the Medical Imaging Technologist

EDUCATION:

Required:

Graduate of an accredited educational program in radiology or a military training program of equivalent standards.

Preferred:

Associate's Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology.

EXPERIENCE:

One year of experience as a Medical Imaging Technologist is preferred.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with the appropriate medical board certification. Registered technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists primary certification in Radiography.
