We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Henry Ford Health System. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing various laboratory tests and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform select procedures on blood and/or other body fluids or specimens, involving manual techniques or the use of laboratory instruments and information systems.
- May perform phlebotomy as needed.
- Work under direct supervision by laboratory technologist, leader and/or supervisor, and according to defined protocols.
- Completion of an Associate Degree Program in Medical Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Science required.
- MLT certification from a recognized national certifying agency (ASCP or NCA) desired or completion of a military 50-60 week technician program and meets the minimum CLIA requirements.
- Successful completion of an Associates or Bachelor's degree that includes at least (5) college courses from among the following: Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry (inorganic or organic), Physics, Nursing, Statistics, Physiology, Veterinary sciences, Mathematics, Introduction to Laboratory Sciences, Pathology, Microscopic Anatomy (Histology), Biochemistry, Hematology, Immunohematology (Blood Banking), Microbiology, Urinalysis, or Coagulation.
