The Physician Assistant - School Based provides patient care assistance to children in area public school clinics under the oversight of a primary care physician.
Key Responsibilities- Provides patient services under supervision and responsibility of a physician.
- Elicits detailed patient histories and conducts complete physical examinations.
- Determines tentative diagnosis and orders appropriate laboratory tests.
- Counsels patient and family on health and disease.
- Treats illnesses and injuries.
- Maintains vaccine supplies and vaccinates infants, children, and youth per CDC recommendations.
- Keeps clinic inventory and maintains adequate supplies.
- Adheres to internal controls established for the department.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician's Assistant program.
- Eligibility for Texas licensure.
- No experience required.
- Previous work with infants, children, or youth.
