Work with the University of Texas Medical Branch
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Specialist, you will provide advanced practice health care services to our patients. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and clinical skills.
Responsibilities
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
- Providing individualized health care services to diverse populations, including social determinants of health
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, and developing comprehensive plans of care
- Diagnosing acute, episodic, and chronic diseases, and providing appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments
- Providing education and anticipatory guidance for health promotion and disease prevention
- Monitoring plan of care for cost-effectiveness and quality outcomes
- Documenting services in a timely manner
- Supporting population and individual health through prevention, health promotion, and chronic disease management
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Completion of a graduate level (or higher) nurse practitioner program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)
- Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
- Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON)
- Licensed Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in a nurse practitioner clinical area of specialization by the Texas Board of Nursing (TBON)
Compensation
The estimated salary for this role is between $120,000 and $150,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
