Position Overview

The Emergency Caregiver is a skilled and dedicated professional focused on providing exceptional support to senior citizens. While HHA or CNA certification is preferred, candidates with extensive experience working with elderly individuals will also be considered.

The primary responsibility of the Emergency Caregiver is to be available outside of standard working hours to respond to urgent client needs and last-minute call-outs. This role is crucial in assisting clients within their homes with daily living activities, uplifting their spirits, and enhancing their overall quality of life through safe and effective home health care services.

The Emergency Caregiver will:

  1. Commit to being On Call during designated hours and days.
  2. Receive a stipend for being On Call, in addition to hourly pay for any client hours worked.
  3. Respond to all phone calls within 15 minutes during On Call periods, which may include receiving calls at any time.
  4. Be prepared to leave for a client visit within 30 minutes of receiving a call.
  5. Accept all assignments during On Call periods, including those in assisted living facilities and hospice care.
  6. Forfeit the On Call stipend if unable to comply with responsibilities.
  7. Provide accurate information regarding their health status and experience.
  8. Review client care plans prior to delivering care.
  9. Have reliable transportation for client visits during On Call hours.
  10. Communicate any issues or concerns with the agency.
  11. Complete necessary documentation accurately and promptly.
  12. Maintain client confidentiality at all times.
  13. Report any suspected client abuse or neglect.
  14. Avoid discussing personal issues with clients or their representatives.
  15. Maintain access to an email account for receiving updates and schedule changes.
  16. Wear personal protective equipment as per training guidelines.
  17. Keep a clean, insured vehicle that is regularly serviced.
  18. Perform all tasks as outlined in HHA, CNA, or PCA job descriptions.
