Job Overview

Position Summary: The individual will be accountable for performing welding tasks within the fabrication shop of TP Mechanical Contractors. This role encompasses various types of pipefitting and requires the ability to interpret blueprints effectively. The candidate must communicate proficiently with all personnel on-site, including subcontractors, while upholding the professional image of TP Mechanical Contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all welding operations in the fabrication shop.
  • Assist in the planning and layout of project tasks.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations as per OSHA and TP Mechanical Contractors standards.
  • Maintain equipment in optimal condition and ensure timely maintenance is executed.
  • Keep the workspace organized and perform routine clean-up as necessary.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Required Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in reading blueprints.
  • Familiarity with general plumbing and piping installation is advantageous.
  • Competent in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work within specific accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Capability to pass a pipe test (GMAW).

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Trade School education is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Vision correctable to 20/50.
  • Able to perform shift work if required.
  • Must be capable of lifting items weighing up to 60 lbs.

Special Requirements:

  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
