Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager of International Tax, this role is pivotal in overseeing Abbott's compliance with the newly implemented OECD Pillar 2 regulations across various jurisdictions. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to these laws and maintain Abbott's compliance standards.

This position demands a thorough understanding of the OECD Pillar 2 model rules, recent legislative changes in multiple jurisdictions, and tax accounting principles to effectively fulfill its responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Abbott's tax compliance processes in relation to OECD Pillar 2 legislation.
  • Oversee tax filing, compliance, and reporting duties, ensuring international tax reporting standards are met.
  • Maintain an updated tax calendar for compliance obligations.
  • Collaborate with local Finance Directors to meet local compliance requirements regarding OECD Pillar 2.
  • Assist in preparing quarterly Pillar 2 models.
  • Monitor global tax legislation related to OECD Pillar 2 and assess its implications for Abbott.
  • Coordinate with other Abbott divisions, including Accounting and Treasury, to ensure efficient data collection for compliance purposes.
  • Provide technical guidance to tax compliance teams.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors across the US, Europe, South America, and Asia.
  • Offer technical advice and mentorship to team members regarding new OECD Pillar 2 tax legislation.
Qualifications

Education: A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required; CPA, MST, and/or JD with LLM in taxation are preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of tax experience within a multinational corporation or tax consulting firm (Big 4 accounting firm or law firm) is essential.

Required Skills
  • Expertise in income tax and income tax accounting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international tax principles.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret tax regulations and assess the impact of new legislation globally.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach.
