Job Title: Senior Project Cost Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Cost Estimator to join our team at Lee Andrews Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing cost estimates for various construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, supervise, and participate in the preparation of construction cost estimates for buildings or other structures.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates and forms submitted to secure State and/or federal grants and loans.
  • Check construction cost estimates submitted by commissioned architects and engineers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Confer with commissioned architects and engineers to resolve differences in their cost estimates and District estimates.
  • Analyze change orders on construction work under contract and approve or reject extras or credits submitted.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for approval of plans and specifications for building projects.
  • Develop methods for maintaining data used in records, charts, and graphs reflecting estimated construction costs compared with actual costs.
  • Estimate costs of damages to District property caused by fire, natural disaster, and major acts of vandalism.
  • Assist other branches with related functions.
Requirements:
  • 10 years of full-time paid professional experience in the preparation of complete cost estimates for type I, II, or III, and V building construction.
  • Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs.
  • Extensive experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders.
  • Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to quickly identify differences.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
Education:

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $153,000 - $175,000 per year, with benefits including health and dental insurance, vacation, sick-time, and a 401k plan.
