Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ECHN. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a critical care setting. Your expertise in respiratory therapy will be essential in helping us deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients with a range of respiratory conditions.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and develop plans to improve their respiratory function.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Operate and maintain complex respiratory equipment, including ventilators and oxygen delivery systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current license to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Connecticut.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider (NRP) or Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications desirable.
- Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) certification.
- Minimum of one year of skilled respiratory experience within the last two years.
- Strong focus on customer service and ability to exhibit patience and empathy while providing care to a culturally diverse group of patients.
- Effective verbal communication skills with patients, co-workers, and physicians.
- Ability to work well with others in a multi-task, fast-paced patient care environment.
