Job Overview:

The Laboratory Operations Manager is tasked with supervising the activities of assigned personnel throughout the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical stages of testing.

This role encompasses the preparation of work schedules, coordination of job responsibilities, and oversight of staff performance. The Manager also contributes to the formulation of policies and procedures pertinent to laboratory operations, staffing, and scheduling. Furthermore, this position entails the execution of quality assurance initiatives, maintenance of compliance documentation, and budget preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the activities of team members in various testing phases, ensuring adherence to facility guidelines.

2. Develop work schedules, assign tasks, and evaluate staff performance.

3. Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, training, assessment, and potential disciplinary actions of employees.

4. Formulate and uphold laboratory policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures.

5. Manage inventory to guarantee the availability of essential supplies.

6. Review quality control, proficiency testing, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance documentation.

7. Prepare and oversee annual financial plans.

Essential Qualifications:
Strong understanding of laboratory regulations, protocols, and procedures.

Ability to utilize statistical and analytical thinking in decision-making.

Excellent communication and comprehension abilities.

Proficient in executing laboratory protocols and ensuring safety standards.

Capability to collaborate effectively within a team and make informed decisions.

Leadership qualities, including the capacity to train and assess staff performance.

General computer proficiency, including expertise in Microsoft Office, information security, and electronic medical records.

Educational Requirements:
Education:

Preferred Qualifications:
ASCP or equivalent certification
MLS Generalist with phlebotomy experience. Leadership experience is preferred but not mandatory.
