Job Title: DME Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented DME Coordinator to join our team at Ellis & Badenhausen Orthopaedics, PSC. As a DME Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of medical devices and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory levels of DME products
  • Monitor pricing and quality of DME products and ensure that excess stock is not present
  • Place orders directly with manufacturers and wholesale vendors for best cost and shipping prices
  • Check inventory in and out to prevent running out of products
  • Assist in developing and revising DME policies and procedures
  • Provide education and support to staff on DME policies and procedures
  • Meet with patients to educate and explain the process of knee bracing
  • Measure patients and schedule appointments to fit braces
  • Receive shipments, unpack boxes, and stock DME products
  • Pre-authorize DME with insurance companies
  • Refers patients to Accounts Receivable Department for alternative payment arrangements
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of DME product library
  • Fits DME products according to provider's prescription and manufacturer's specifications
  • Escorts full-pay patients to front desk to pay for DME products
  • Responds to intra-operative surgery center requests for DME products
  • Completes paperwork related to DME products
  • Ensures all products are accounted for and billed
  • Obtains patient signatures on ABN forms and merchandise receipt forms
  • Ensures all billing forms are submitted to Accounts Receivable within 24 hours
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • NATA Board Certification
  • License with the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure- Athletic Trainer
  • CPR for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association or equivalent
  • Maintain 50 CEU credits per 2-year period
  • Strong ethical and moral character references
  • Good computer skills
  • Training or courses in materials management/vendor negotiations
  • Willingness to support and encourage co-workers
Preferred:
  • Experience in materials management
  • Financial experience in DME or Accounts Receivable
  • Clinical office experience
