Job Title: Senior Process Engineer

Calumet GP, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team at Calumet Montana Refining. As a key member of our process engineering team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and strategic improvement opportunities for our fossil fuel refinery and renewable fuels plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and operational expertise within the refinery and renewables plant.
  • Identify long-term process improvement opportunities for margin improvement, process optimization, reliability, and energy utilization.
  • Implement new technologies or best practices to improve profitability.
  • Provide higher-level monitoring and troubleshooting for refinery & renewable fuel processes.
  • Lead process development activities for the refinery.
  • Mentor process engineers.
  • Provide process engineering designs and services during engineering, construction, and startup of projects.
  • Evaluate project economics based upon process simulations and economic models.
  • Evaluate new technologies required to meet Environmental requirements.
  • Work closely with Environmental, Operations, and Safety during all phases of project development and process optimization.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
  • 8+ years Process Engineering experience in a refinery, petrochemical facility, or renewable fuels plant.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
  • Proven technical expertise.
  • Strong experience in and understanding of Refining and/or renewable fuels economics.
  • Must possess strong computer skills including MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Process simulation experience preferred.
