Job Summary

This Ambulatory Care RN position will play a crucial role in preparing patients for surgery, endoscopy, and interventional procedures. You will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan to achieve the goals of the Ambulatory Care department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt assessment of patients upon return from OR and/or diagnostic procedure and document findings.
  • Provide safe nursing care and a safe environment for patients and families.
  • Transcribe and implement physician orders and document all patient-related information.
  • Administer medication and IV fluids accurately and safely within nursing guidelines.
  • Update/revise plan of care as needed, based on continued assessment of patient, including providing care for patient discharge to nursing unit, including transport.
  • Effectively respond and perform in an emergency and use critical thinking skills to perceive potential problem situations and intervene to offset adverse effects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate degree in Nursing or higher is required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
  • ACLS certification is also required.
  • A minimum of 1-year previous experience in Critical Care or PACU Nursing is strongly preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
