Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrument Technician Lead to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a key member of our Sterile Processing department, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations, overseeing the decontamination, assembly, and sterilization process of instruments, and ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily activities of the Sterile Processing department, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Supervise and train staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and UnityPoint Health policies.
  • Collaborate with leadership and other departments to resolve complex issues and improve communication and workflow.
  • Perform audits and quality checks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and UnityPoint Health policies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and supplies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying knowledge to improve processes and procedures.

Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification required or obtained within 1 year of hire.
  • Advanced knowledge of the Sterile Processing field, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
