Lead Psychiatric Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Lead Psychiatric Care Tech to join our team at Western State Hospital. As a key member of our care team, you will provide work direction to Psychiatric Care Techs, interact with patients, and ensure compliance with hospital safety rules and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide work direction to Psychiatric Care Techs and ensure effective communication with patients and staff.
- Teach and model therapeutic interactions based on recovery/trauma-informed care principles.
- Serve as a liaison between Psychiatric Care Techs and RN II Unit Shift Supervisors.
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor and report any changes in patient behavior or condition.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Must have completed the one-year probationary period or waived to six months with recommendation from current RN II.
- Previous psychiatric experience and supervisory experience preferred.
- CNA certification and knowledge of program activities (recreation, leisure skills, communication, vocational, and educational) a plus.
Western State Hospital offers a competitive salary range of $38,818 - $52,384, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
