About the Position

This role will oversee irrigation research and extension activities at the Kansas State University Southwest Research Extension Center in Garden City or Colby. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating precision equipment/machinery and irrigation systems; installing, calibrating, and maintaining research instrumentation; planning, managing, and documenting research projects; coordinating and interacting with producers and industry representatives; and assisting in outreach efforts.

The ideal candidate will provide leadership to other team members and have a strong understanding of precision agricultural equipment, technologies, and software. Experience in irrigated agriculture, including managing irrigation systems, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate precision equipment/machinery and irrigation systems
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain research instrumentation
  • Plan, manage, and document research projects
  • Coordinate and interact with producers and industry representatives
  • Assist in outreach efforts
Requirements
  • Master's degree and two years relevant experience
  • Familiarity with precision agricultural equipment, technologies, and software
  • Experience in irrigated agriculture, including managing irrigation systems
Salary and Benefits

The anticipated hiring pay range is $65,000-$80,000 per year. Additionally, the position offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
