Lead Tax Strategist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Lead Tax Strategist to support our esteemed client. This role is a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence for a few days each week. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Tax and be part of a dynamic and collaborative tax team. We are looking for an individual who is proactive and possesses a strong background in various tax areas including income tax, indirect tax, sales and use tax, tax compliance, and ASC 740.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the calculation of quarterly and year-end tax provisions, including effective tax rates, journal entries, footnote disclosures, and preparation of supporting documentation.
- Support corporate income tax compliance, including the preparation of quarterly estimate extensions and related workpapers.
- Collaborate with the Indirect Tax Manager on compliance, payments, and related projects.
- Contribute to the month-end closing process, including reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analysis for both indirect and direct taxes.
- Provide audit assistance and support various ad-hoc projects as required.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is mandatory.
- A Master's Degree in Taxation is preferred, along with CPA certification.
- Experience in a publicly traded organization is essential.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and income tax regulations is required.
- Experience with ASC 740 is a plus.
- Must be a team-oriented, self-motivated individual with strong analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with all levels of the organization are essential.
Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of experience in public accounting or within an internal corporate income tax department at a public company is required.
Employment Type:
Temporary (6 to 12 months)
Compensation:
$90.00 to $100.00 per hour
