Key Responsibilities

  • System Architecture: Architecting and strategizing the design of IT systems, encompassing networks, servers, storage, and virtualization technologies to align with business needs and performance criteria.
  • AWS Integration: Integrating and optimizing a variety of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, and CloudWatch to construct scalable, high-performance, and cost-efficient solutions.
  • Data Protection Strategies: Designing and executing backup, replication, and disaster recovery protocols for AWS resources and applications, ensuring data integrity, availability, and resilience during failures or outages.
  • Container Management: Utilizing Docker and Kubernetes for the creation, deployment, and management of containers, ensuring consistent application performance across diverse environments.
  • Automation Tools: Employing automation solutions like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and Terraform to streamline provisioning, configuration, deployment, and management tasks, while orchestration tools like Kubernetes facilitate large-scale management of containerized applications.
  • Network Infrastructure: Collaborating with networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs to design and oversee network infrastructure.
  • Protocol Management: Engaging with protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols.
  • Technology Evaluation: Researching and assessing new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance infrastructure efficiency, scalability, and security.
  • Security Measures: Implementing and upholding security protocols to safeguard the organization’s infrastructure, data, and systems against cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • AWS Security Configuration: Configuring and managing AWS security services, including AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS Security Groups, and AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF).
  • Performance Analysis: Monitoring system performance, analyzing data, and pinpointing areas for optimization to ensure maximum uptime and reliability.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Formulating and executing disaster recovery strategies to minimize downtime and data loss during system failures or disasters.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensuring that infrastructure designs and implementations adhere to industry regulations, standards, and best practices, along with internal policies.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree with 6 years of experience in Information Systems or a bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience in Information Systems.
  • Proficiency with the AWS Technology stack and AWS Services such as EC2 and S3.
  • Experience collaborating with teams of data scientists, software engineers, and business experts to derive insights.
  • Ability to comprehend new business requirements and prioritize them for delivery.
  • Experience in the biopharma/life sciences sector with a focus on Validation.
  • Capability to support a GxP environment adhering to related GMP procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL for Cloud RDBMS.
  • Experience in an agile work environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
  • Capacity to mentor and provide best practices to team members.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to thrive in a flexible, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of overall experience as a Cloud Engineer or Network Engineer.
  • 3+ years in an Engineering role utilizing public cloud solutions such as AWS.
  • 3+ years of experience with IT process frameworks like ITIL.
  • 1+ years of experience with CyberSecurity frameworks like NIST.
