Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our team at Amphenol TCS. As a key member of our global technology company, you will play a critical role in the development of new products and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Influence Design Characteristics: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize design characteristics for improved manufacturability, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Maintain and Improve Existing Processes: Develop and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Develop Assembly Concepts: Design, test, and deploy tooling and automation to support high-volume production.
  • Collaborate with Suppliers and Manufacturers: Work closely with external partners to develop, fabricate, and build prototypes, pilot production, and deploy factory automation.
  • Design and Process Integration: Bring product design and component together in an assembly process, understanding how incoming processes impact the overall assembly process.
  • Develop and Document Assembly Processes: Create and maintain assembly processes, spare parts lists, and preventative maintenance plans.
  • Prepare Equipment and Systems Specifications: Develop specifications for equipment and systems to support production.
  • Process Optimization and Modeling: Work with team IEs to formulate process step cycle times, efficiencies, yields, and step relationships, including dynamic modeling for process and line balance assumptions.
  • Define Process Steps and Sequence: Determine process steps and sequence of operations, material handling, and process control needs, and preliminary process layout.
  • Product/Process DFMs, FMEAs, and Risk Assessment: Participate in product and process design for manufacturability, failure mode and effects analysis, and risk assessment activities.
  • Critical Product/Process Parameters: Define critical product and process parameters related to product documentation nominals and tolerances and their relation to process functions.
  • Safety and Occupational Health: Evaluate safety and occupational health summaries for processes.
  • Cost and Operational Criteria: Provide cost and operational criteria via internal and external resources for the justification and acquisition of major tooling.
  • Cost Reduction Activities: Propose and implement cost reduction activities for mature assembly processes.
Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from a four-year university, with 5+ years of related experience and/or training within the connector industry, preferred.

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • Progressive stamping and lead-frame slugout
  • Injection molding and insert molding, lead-frame over-molding
  • Small component handling and assembly
  • Terminal plating
  • New product development
  • Proficient with solid modeling tools (Creo, Solid Works, AutoCAD)
  • Experience with automation, PLCs, machine vision, and electrical controls
  • Project management experience
  • Project management software (MS Project)
  • Spreadsheet software (Excel)
  • Presentation software (PowerPoint)
