We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Insurance Operations Specialist to join our team at Bank of Hawaii. This role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, customer service, and accounting responsibilities of Pacific Century Life Insurance Corporation (PC Life) and Insurance Marketing.
Key Responsibilities- Handles operational line tasks necessary to accomplish the department's objectives, including creating and maintaining the department's operational infrastructure.
- Develops and conducts periodic internal operational training, identifies efficiencies, and implements improvements of operational procedures.
- Handles customer inquiries on insurance products, gives insurance advice, resolves insurance-related customer complaints, and handles claims.
- Prepares and reviews monthly insurance and financial reports, submits to Controllers, insurance vendors, actuarial firm, etc. at month end.
- Monitors revenues/expenses from various insurance companies, analyzes ceding statements, detects errors, and resolves settlement discrepancies.
- Coordinates activities across multiple channels, including direct marketing, digital marketing, social media, and content marketing to optimize results.
- Handles all claim processing for PC Life as well as other contracted insurance companies, assures proper documents are obtained, correspondences, and claim settlements are accurate and timely.
- Serves as project lead and department representative on all technology projects for system requirements/updates that involve PC Life and/or Insurance Marketing.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.
- State of Hawaii Producer License in Life and Accident, Health, and Sickness Insurance preferred and required prior to customer interface on insurance matters.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years insurance, banking, and/or operations experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency and advance expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) or similar software.
- Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems.
