Position Responsibilities

As a Charge Nurse, your duties will include:

  • Evaluating, planning, and executing nursing care for residents in a skilled nursing environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
  • Conducting assessments upon resident admission and weekly thereafter, as well as during any changes in health status.
  • Guaranteeing seamless care for residents by delivering direct nursing services and overseeing the activities of Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and other support staff.
  • Adhering to established infection control measures and supervising staff compliance with these protocols.
  • Engaging in educational activities for residents and their families.
  • Acting as an advocate for residents, aligning with the organization’s mission and values.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A valid nursing license issued by the State of California.
  • A minimum of six months of experience in long-term care, home health, or a related area.
  • Proven proficiency in both technical and manual nursing skills in accordance with the scope of practice for RNs/LVNs.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, colleagues, and management in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Current First Aid training and certifications as required by Title 22.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the capability to thrive in a diverse environment.
  • A working knowledge of computer systems and typing skills adequate for managing computerized Point of Care and other related systems.
