Job Summary

Gulf Island is seeking a highly skilled Offshore Rigger to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient lifting and rigging of heavy equipment and materials on our offshore locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lifting and Rigging: Plan, coordinate, and execute the lifting and rigging of heavy equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on lifting equipment, including cranes, cherry pickers, and rigging gear.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and train junior riggers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties safely and effectively.
  • Safety Management: Identify and mitigate potential safety risks, implementing measures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in offshore rigging and lifting, with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of lifting and rigging techniques, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance procedures. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions.
  • Certifications: TWIC card and other relevant certifications required.
