Job Title: Maintenance Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician II to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Western Territory. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and repair of our facilities, buildings, equipment, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine, preventive maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and facilities systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire and life safety systems.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Responsible for all facilities, equipment, buildings, and grounds, including pool equipment and water quality.
  • Complete work orders as assigned and update work logs for specific site requirements.
  • Assist in identifying projects requiring careful planning or the services of an outside contractor.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two years' experience performing facilities maintenance.
  • Minimum of two years' working with HVAC or pool systems.
  • At least two years' building management and work order systems experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to review and understand blueprint drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of motors and electrical systems.
  • Able to work after hours operation.
Working Conditions:

The employee will regularly be exposed to inside and outside work in all types of weather, including wet and/or humid conditions, heat or cold, and moving mechanical equipment.

The employee will regularly be exposed to chemicals used while performing job duties.

Equipment Needs:

The employee will use equipment normally used in construction, maintenance, and landscaping, including hedge trimmers, power floor cleaners, carpet shampoo machines, paint sprayers, power drain cleaners, chain saws, key machines, and all chemicals associated with maintenance and landscaping.

The candidate chosen for this position must have a valid driver's license and insured transportation and participation in The Salvation Army's Fleet Safety Program on an annual basis.

Environmental Freon handling certification desired.

The candidate chosen for this position will be required to pass a criminal history information check.
