Job Summary:

Apex Systems, a leading IT services company, is seeking a skilled Application Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our support team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our clients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend daily and weekly conference calls to discuss technical issues and provide support to clients.
  • Respond to technical queries from clients via email, phone, and instant messaging.
  • Provide day-to-day production support services for custom applications and reports.
  • Support assigned systems and projects through a broad conceptual understanding of technology and an in-depth knowledge of the technology required and the needs of the business environment.
  • Anticipate customer needs and effectively communicate with clients in a manner consistent with their audience.
  • Utilize analytical and diagnostic skills to resolve complex technical issues and make sound decisions quickly.

Requirements:

  • Linux/UNIX environment experience, with a strong understanding of Unix management.
  • Database experience, including Oracle DB and SQL DB.
  • Job scheduling experience, including batch scheduling with Autosys.
  • Monitoring experience, including protection support with ITRS Geneos.
  • Scripting experience, including general knowledge and the ability to debug scripts.

Nice to Have Requirements:

  • Scripting experience with Python and Java-based scripting.
  • Experience working in a brokerage house environment, such as JPMC or Morgan Stanley.
