Lead Server Customer Platform Architect Role:

As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a leading team driving and improving AMD's abilities to deliver industry-leading technologies to market. The Server Customer Engineering team fosters continuous technical innovation and career development.

Responsibilities:

  1. Technological Advancements: Utilize cutting-edge methods to develop and optimize EPYC SoC products and platforms, identifying opportunities to advance current methods and apply new techniques directly to products in development.
  2. Customer Engagement: Take the lead role in architectural discussions with US-based datacenter customers, taking ownership of issues and driving closure with a sense of urgency.
  3. Platform Architecture: Exert influence in internal and external platform architecture topics, being highly visible and communicative.
  4. Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor and/or consultant to executives.
  5. Deliverables: Produce tangible and measurable results such as technical analysis, proposed customer communications, meeting minutes, presentations, and proposals.
  6. Technical Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in server system topics, including system architecture, design, memory, I/O, signal integrity, power delivery, thermal, mechanical, power management, and contribute to future EPYC architectural direction.
  7. Training and Development: Develop and/or improve training and enabling collaterals, collaborating with other staff members to drive results.
  8. Knowledge Sharing: Deliver training on topics as needed.
  9. Problem-Solving: Identify opportunities to advance current methods, design experiments, conduct Proof of Concept studies, build consensus, and apply new techniques directly to products in development.
  10. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work across organizations, including design, system validation, manufacturing test, firmware, and other disciplines to optimize power, performance, and total cost of ownership through to launch.
  11. Leadership: Demonstrate expert ability to break down complex problems into manageable pieces and drive resolution through design of experiments and data-driven decisions.
  12. Mentorship: Coach and be a mentor to senior staff.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  1. Must be a self-starter, able to independently drive tasks to completion.
  2. Extensive knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategy.
  3. Strong analytical/problem-solving skills and pronounced attention to details.
  4. Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python).
  5. Debug techniques and methodologies.
  6. Extensive experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization.

Academic Credentials:

  1. Bachelors or Masters degree in electrical or computer engineering or equivalent.

Estimated Salary Range: $150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and location.
