Job Summary:

The Sanitation Department Manager will play a crucial role in coordinating the activities of the plant to include meat manufacturing, sanitation, and distribution. This position will have a significant impact on the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of 1st shift manufacturing operations for the plant, including production, sanitation, cooking, and chilling.
  • Ensure all production requirements are met and establish distributor/customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain an effective supervisory team.
  • Exercises good leadership and communication skills.
  • Analyze operations on a continual basis to improve costs, quality, and service.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and build effective relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Actively participate in the research, justification, and implementation of long-range planning for the facility.
  • Ensure all sanitary, quality, and consistency requirements are met in the area of responsibility.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of Total Quality Management (TQM) processes.
  • Actively participate in capital expenditure requisitioning, budgeting, and goal setting.
  • Ensure required preventive maintenance is being performed on all department equipment.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of plant sanitation experience within food or beverage manufacturing.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required.
  • Familiarity with Hazard Analysis Control Critical Process (HACCP) and procedures.
  • English/Spanish bilingual a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree a plus.

Location:

Jarratt, VA

Salary:

$85k-$90k - commensurate with experience
