Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Abuse Counselor III to join our team at the Hawaii State Judiciary. As a Substance Abuse Counselor III, you will provide professional substance abuse counseling, education, and rehabilitative services to referred offenders. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of substance abuse counseling principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional substance abuse counseling services to individuals and families
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct educational classes and therapeutic-related classes
  • Participate in the development and implementation of program policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as required
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university with a major in psychology, sociology, social work, criminal justice administration, substance abuse counseling, educational counseling, or a related field of counseling or mental health
  • One and one-half years of progressively responsible professional substance abuse counseling experience providing direct alcohol and drug treatment services to individuals and/or families in a treatment program or drug court setting
  • Valid Hawai'i Substance Abuse Counselor Certificate (CSAC) issued by the State of Hawai'i, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division
  • Current and valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle
