About the Role

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our Construction department, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and vehicles, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
  • Utilize technical resources, such as operator manuals and maintenance guides, to troubleshoot and identify parts needed for repair.
  • Conduct Unit Condition Inspections and Reports to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to MasTec Safety practices and procedures.
  • Provide accurate and detailed information on required documents, including maintenance records and repair reports.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Basics of mathematics and electronics.
  • Excellent record keeping skills.
  • Ability to work in inclement weather and travel as needed.
  • Physical effort to move objects and tools that may weigh up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with aerial equipment, directional drills, excavators, backhoes, etc.
