Position Overview:

The Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of assigned guest rooms and public areas, adhering to established standards and procedures to ensure guest satisfaction. This role involves reporting any damages, mechanical issues, or suspicious activities promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Thoroughly cleans and sanitizes all areas of guest rooms according to company standards.
  2. Tasks include changing linens, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, sweeping, and emptying trash.
  3. Restocks guestroom supplies and literature as necessary.
  4. Maintains a well-organized linen closet and assists with restocking duties.
  5. Responds to guest inquiries regarding room cleanliness and amenities to enhance guest experience.
  6. Reports any maintenance or repair needs in guest rooms and public areas immediately.
  7. Addresses guest complaints within the scope of authority, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  8. Notifies management of any unusual incidents or safety concerns.

Safety and Compliance:

Follows all safety protocols and procedures, reporting potential hazards to management. Adheres to the hotel's Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) program and is familiar with current Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Attendance:

Regular and punctual attendance is essential for this role.

Additional Duties:

  1. Manages housekeeping cart by retrieving, stocking, and storing items according to safety and security regulations.
  2. Returns lost items found in guest rooms or common areas to the housekeeping department, documenting relevant details.
  3. Cleans corridors and service areas as assigned.
  4. Informs management of unsafe conditions or maintenance needs.

Qualifications:

No formal education is required, though prior experience in hotel housekeeping is preferred. The ability to handle confidential information discreetly is essential. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to guest satisfaction are necessary for success in this role.

Basic math skills and the ability to read and understand simple instructions are required. Flexibility in scheduling is expected, including the possibility of working on weekends and holidays.

Completion of training related to safety and proper handling of hazardous materials is mandatory.
