Job Summary
The Custodian performs cleaning duties in assigned areas of the facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. This role requires close supervision and attention to detail, with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, including patient and non-patient areas
- Responsible for cleaning and safeguarding of assigned areas
- Responsible for assigned equipment and supplies
- Determine supplies needed and ensure efficient usage
- Deliver clean linen and pick up soiled linen
Requirements
- Able to perform all cleaning/custodial functions, including mopping, pushing and pulling carts, wall washing, vent cleaning, and vacuuming
- Understanding of procedures for proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemotherapy and infectious/bio-hazardous waste
- Understanding of basic safety regulations and issues
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior custodial experience in a healthcare setting or hospitality environment
- Customer service training/experience
Special Conditions
- Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs
- Ability to bend, squat, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
- Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical
Compensation
Annual Full Pay Range: $41,864 - $52,075 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%); Hourly Equivalent: $24.94
Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure, and certifications, as well as business and organizational needs.
