Lead Water Treatment Facility Design

Forge ahead with WSB LLC, a design and consulting firm specializing in engineering, community planning, environmental, and construction services. We seek a skilled Wastewater Engineering Manager to lead our water treatment facility design team.

About the Role:

  • Lead project management and process design for new water treatment facilities, lift stations, review existing water/wastewater treatment facilities, prepare reports for proposed equipment/systems upgrades and replacements, and present findings to clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct business development and develop client relationships in the water/wastewater industry.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply various treatment technologies, equipment, and processes to optimize performance or ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and apply results to water/wastewater treatment plant configurations.
  • Develop specifications and drawings such as process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for senior drafting technicians.
  • Assess impact of changing DOH, EPA, and MPCA regulations for specific client needs.
  • Travel to client and vendor locations for design reviews, field verification of designs, proposal presentations, and business development activities.

What You Will Bring:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in water and/or wastewater engineering in areas such as evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing municipal and industrial water treatment facilities, lift stations, wastewater conveyance, and water distribution systems.
  • A minimum of 3 years of water or wastewater engineering project management experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • A current Minnesota PE license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
  • A valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to work at a variety of locations.
  • The ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains associated with construction projects.
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills.

Preferable Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Proven business development experience.
  • Experience mentoring, developing, and mentoring staff.
