Job Description

Electrical Engineer (Oil & Gas)

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in the Oil and Gas sector. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems for our clients in the refining, gas transmission, and petrochemical industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement electrical systems for capital projects, including power distribution, substation design, and electrical engineering consulting.
  • Develop electrical engineering solutions as a hands-on engineer, including cradle-to-grave power studies, emergency power system design, and interior and exterior lighting design.
  • Prepare design criteria, specifications, one-line diagrams, and elementaries for electrical equipment, including motor control centers, VFDs, and starters.
  • Perform fault current calculation, arc flash analysis, and coordination studies, as well as circuit protection device selection and coordination.
  • Develop construction drawing packages and review vendor submittals.
  • Provide technical expertise to the organization and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers and assist in preparation of project schedules and estimates.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
  • Ability to lead the electrical design on a multi-discipline project.
  • Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD software and electrical analysis software (ETAP, SKM).
  • Strong knowledge of National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code Standards (NFPA/NEC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with management, clients, and vendors.
  • Good general computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
