We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Safety Specialist to join our team in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. As a key member of our regional office, you will be responsible for executing safety standards and policies, working closely with local leaders and the Safety Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Promote and implement Behavioral Based Safety policies and procedures for specific areas.
- Monitor and document weekly on-site safety inspections, including logging and reporting.
- Investigate and manage accidents, injuries, and near misses, identifying root causes.
- Facilitate meetings with and develop Safety Techs in specific areas.
- Lead and train Safety Techs or site management in accident management.
- Work with clients to understand their safety requirements and develop contingency plans.
- Manage safety operations for a condensed area within the same metropolitan area or nearby towns.
- A four-year degree in safety engineering or a related field, or four-plus years of experience leading a successful behavior-based safety culture and safety leadership in the construction industry.
- OSHA certifications required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to track information and conduct audits.
- Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
- Effective presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to work well with others and achieve results through others.
- Sound judgement skills and ability to prioritize work and deal with stress.
- Industrial/Contracting/Oil & Gas/Food & Beverage/Wastewater/Construction experience preferred.
