Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Post Acute Physician to join our team at Central Florida Inpatient Medicine. As a Post Acute Provider, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and evidence-based medical care to patients in skilled nursing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess, evaluate, and clinically manage patients in post-acute facilities, including performing histories and physicals, and conducting physical examinations.
  2. Diagnose and actively manage patient conditions, including evaluation and treatment, and daily patient care.
  3. Attend multi-disciplinary rounds at post-acute sites.
  4. Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
  5. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including suturing, wound care, incision and drainage, and splinting.
  6. Prescribe or recommend pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications.
  7. Consult with appropriate physicians for patient care needs.
  8. Refer patients to appropriate sources of care as required.
  9. Ensure efficient utilization of resources while supporting clinical pathway implementation and compliance.
  10. Ensure timely referrals to tertiary care facilities as indicated by patient care needs in consultation with primary care physicians or attending physicians.
Requirements
  1. Doctorate degree in medicine (MD or DO).
  2. Completion of advanced graduate medical education in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  3. Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  4. Active FL medical license in good standing.
  5. DEA license eligible/active.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Prior experience using an electronic medical records system (EMR).
Working Conditions
  1. Communicate effectively with patients and staff.
  2. Ability to sit, stand, or view a computer screen for extended periods.
  3. Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions for extended periods.
  4. Ability to use hand and fingers to handle or feel.
  5. Ability to reach with hands and arms.
