Infection Prevention Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Infection Prevention Specialist to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society. As a key member of our quality and risk management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control and prevention in our healthcare facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with infection and prevention and control staff to achieve program goals and objectives
- Evaluate infection control trends, practices, and provide educational programs for employees
- Surveillance of healthcare-associated infections and reportable illnesses
- Evaluation and reporting of statistical information
- Consultation on asepsis, disinfection, sterilization, isolation, disease transmission, and related issues
- Monitors compliance with standards and regulations
- Evaluates and improves patient/resident outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related clinical field
- Two years of experience in a healthcare field
- Board of Certification in Infection Control (CIC) by the Certification Board of Infection Control, Inc. (CBIC) required for acute settings
- Completion of an approved Infection Prevention course by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) required for post-acute settings
- Currently hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing
