This role ensures that meals are served at appropriate temperatures and times, providing each patient or resident with the necessary nutrition to maintain health and quality of life. Additionally, the position involves food preparation for public dining areas, including the cafeteria and catering services.

Position Details:
Location: Roseau
Shift: Primarily 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
Schedule: 4 shifts per week
Hours: 32 hours
FTE: 0.8
Weekend Requirement: Every other
Holiday Requirement: Every other
Compensation: $17.70 - $23.01

Role Expectations:

- Act as a lead in the absence of the food service supervisor and manager.
- Review menus, recipes, and production sheets to plan food preparation.
- Develop a cooking schedule to ensure timely meal readiness.
- Prepare food in appropriate quantities while maintaining nutritional quality.
- Ensure safe and timely food service, monitoring temperatures for compliance.
- Serve meals according to established guidelines and resident preferences.
- Support departmental operations through effective communication and documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in work areas.
- Adhere to dress code and hygiene standards.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in institutional food service as a cook
  • Preferred: Current MN Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
