Position Overview:
The Acoustic Engineering Specialist will primarily focus on sound management within the Environmental Certification and Compliance Section. This role is essential in overseeing the regulatory processes associated with large-scale renewable energy initiatives, ensuring adherence to environmental standards throughout the permitting and construction phases of electric and gas transmission projects.

Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
  • Reviewing application documents, compliance submissions, Environmental Management and Construction Plans (EM&CP), and conducting noise mitigation assessments.
  • Documenting pre-construction baseline sound levels and performing post-construction noise and vibration evaluations to ensure compliance with established conditions.
  • Investigating noise and vibration complaints related to construction and operational phases of renewable energy projects.
  • Participating in meetings with applicants and stakeholders to discuss project developments.
  • Engaging in confidential discussions regarding project settlements.
  • Carrying out additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally with coursework covering:
  • Outdoor and indoor noise propagation
  • Computer noise modeling
  • Noise measurement collection and analysis
Alternatively, candidates with a relevant engineering degree and at least two years of experience in the aforementioned areas will be considered.

Technical Skills:
Familiarity with sound level meters and noise data analysis software is advantageous. Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel is also preferred.
