About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Guitar Instructor to join our Community Music and Arts Center team at Harper College. As a guitar instructor, you will be responsible for teaching private and group guitar classes to non-credit adult students and children enrolled in our programs.

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly private and group guitar classes to students of various skill levels and ages.
• Organize and maintain a consistent teaching schedule to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding scheduling, progress, and program activities.
• Prepare students for recitals, performances, and other musical events.
• Participate in recruitment activities to promote the program and attract new students.
• Integrate technology into the delivery of instruction to enhance the learning experience.
• Attend department and faculty meetings to stay informed about college initiatives and best practices.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified guitar instructor with:

Formal training and a degree in music or a related field (preferred).1-3 years of successful teaching experience in guitar or a related instrument.Experience working with people of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.A positive attitude, self-starter mentality, and willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues.About Us
