Responsibilities:
The primary role involves assembling and disassembling rental equipment (under supervision) as well as constructing liner systems (under supervision) according to work instructions. The individual will also support senior workshop personnel in the preparation and testing of Thru-Tubing equipment. They will be expected to adhere to a specified learning plan that includes various computer-based learning modules and classroom training. During this phase, they may undertake miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Supervisor. The individual applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks strictly in accordance with Weatherford OEPS standards. Close supervision and thorough review of all work performed are provided to ensure sound professional judgment.
Duties & Responsibilities: (not listed in any particular order)
- Fuse metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, utilizing brazing and a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.
- Join metal parts together, employing both gas welding or brazing and various arc welding processes.
- Execute related tasks, such as thermal cutting and grinding.
- Repair broken or cracked components, fill holes, and enlarge metal parts as necessary.
- Position and secure components of fabricated metal products in preparation for welding.
- Maintain necessary supplies and place orders as required with prior approval.
- Understand and comply with Weatherford Quality Policy and all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures, and Workplace Instructions.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies of Weatherford.
- Ensure work assignments are executed to the highest quality standards.
- Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
- Utilize hand tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Operate a variety of welding machines.
- Employ various welding rods, gases, and processes.
- Use cutting torch or torch equipment as needed.
- Understand various temperatures for special materials and welding to engineering specifications.
- Possess the physical ability to respond immediately to emergency situations.
Qualifications:
- College degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2-4+ years of experience in the oilfield.
- Experience in fusing metals to produce specific products and provide support to service operations.
- Minimum 1-3 years of welding experience.
