Role Summary: Senior Software Developer

Team Overview: We are in search of a skilled Data Engineer to enhance our expanding team of development professionals. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing and refining our data architecture and data pipeline systems, ensuring efficient data flow and collection across various teams. The Data Engineer will collaborate with our data division on various initiatives, ensuring that our data delivery framework is optimized and consistent across all projects.

Key Contributions: The ideal candidate should possess a wealth of experience in gathering data in diverse formats and have a passion for parsing, transforming, and optimizing data systems, including building them from scratch. The right individual will be enthusiastic about the opportunity to enhance or even redesign our organization's data architecture to facilitate the next generation of products and data initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
  • Identify, conceptualize, and implement internal process enhancements: automating manual tasks, improving data delivery, redesigning infrastructure for increased scalability, etc.
  • Construct the necessary infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide array of data sources into SQL Server, MongoDB, and others.
  • Develop data tools for data quality team members to assist in building and optimizing pipelines to improve workflows.
  • Establish processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

Candidate Profile:

  • We seek a candidate with 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering roles, holding a Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative discipline.
  • Proficient in SQL Server with experience in relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and familiarity with various database types, including NoSQL, Big Data, and custom formats.
  • Experience with Visual Studio, ASP.NET Frameworks, .NET Core, C#, SQL Server, NoSQL, Java, and Internet Information Services (IIS).
  • Knowledge of multi-threading in C# and maintaining data integrity in SQL Server.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to address specific business inquiries and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills related to handling unstructured datasets.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic setting.

Compensation and Benefits Overview: S&P Global indicates that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000. The final base salary will be determined based on the individual's geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan and additional S&P Global benefits.

Work Eligibility: This role is limited to individuals with indefinite right to work in the United States.
