Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support for anesthesia equipment and supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are available and in good working order.
- Assist in the setup and maintenance of anesthesia equipment, including the preparation of IV solutions and fluid warmers.
- Support the anesthesia team in the preparation of equipment for various types of cases, including OB, Centennial, Chestnut Surgery Center, IVF, Cardiac, Trauma, Remote Site, Endoscopy, and Cancer Center.
- Maintain continuing education and participate in organizational performance improvements as directed.
- Order and restock OR anesthesia supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary items are available and in good working order.
- Perform daily and monthly quality control checks on equipment, as set forth by Anesthesia.
- Assist with equipment setup and supplies during emergency situations, as directed by the physician and/or RN.
- Provide age-appropriate care to patients, demonstrating knowledge of developmental stages and applying developmental theories and concepts when planning and implementing care.
- Know and follow proper procedures for anesthesia supplies and equipment, initiating preliminary review and troubleshooting resolutions of problem equipment.
- Communicate the status of all equipment-related issues to clinical engineering and inform the charge RN of conditions requiring action to ensure safety, aseptic, and infection control.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of experience in an acute hospital setting preferred.
- Ability to multitask and work under stressful and emergent situations.
- Basic math skills and computer literacy required.
- AHA BLS/CPR certification required.
