Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Radioactive Materials Licensing Assistant to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our licensing and permitting team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable policies and administrative codes, communicating with external and internal customers, and maintaining complex database programs for required technical data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and review incoming license and permit applications, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and administrative codes.
  • Communicate with external and internal customers, responding to routine questions and routing technical questions to appropriate staff.
  • Perform complex computer-related tasks using databases, compiling and entering data for charts, graphs, and reports.
  • Review and process complex requests for General License Acknowledgements (GLA), issue certificates, and maintain complex database entry of information.
  • Review and approve complex requests for Waste Shipper and Waste Transporter certifications, issue certificates, and maintain complex database entry of information.
  • Assist in the development of administrative and technical assistance policies and procedures for the review of license and permits.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of office, administrative, and licensing/permitting principles and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret statues, rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical material and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of documents, materials, and information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
