Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care, supporting clinical operations, and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care:
    • Prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, and document medical information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
    • Assist with minor surgical procedures, perform EKGs, and other outpatient screening tests as needed
    • Administer prescribed medications, give injections, and vaccines under the direction of a licensed healthcare provider
  • Clerical and Administrative Tasks:
    • Respond to patient phone calls, answer questions, and provide information within your scope of practice
    • Prepare and send patient correspondence, complete medical forms, and maintain patient education materials
    • Assist with scheduling appointments, preparing charts, and maintaining accurate records
  • Environmental and Safety Responsibilities:
    • Adhere to universal body fluids precautions and infection control policies
    • Dispose of infectious waste properly, clean and disinfect equipment, and maintain a safe environment
    • Perform daily code/crash cart checks and maintain temperature logs as needed
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Medical Assistant certification (MA-C)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or higher level equivalent preferred
  • 1+ years of related experience preferred; 7+ years of experience working as an MA may be considered in lieu of MA program completion
