Fire Sprinkler Inspection Technician

Impact Fire Services is a leading fire protection and life safety company seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Inspection Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Fire Sprinkler Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems, as well as testing and rebuilding backflow preventers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform fire sprinkler inspections and services per NFPA and engineering guidelines
  • Verify proper communication with monitoring stations when working on monitored systems
  • Prepare sprinkler pipe and stock trucks with inventory required for jobs
  • Manage inventory and tools for each job to ensure proper parts and tools are on hand
  • Collaborate with general contractors as necessary
  • Complete NFPA certification and life safety testing, maintaining current knowledge of NFPA code
  • Perform disassembly, inspection, and repair of sprinkler and backflow valves
  • Exercise, turn, and lubricate sprinkler system valves
  • Perform testing of control valve function
  • Tripping, observing, and resetting dry valves
  • Perform water flow testing on sprinkler systems
Requirements:
  • Massachusetts Fire Sprinkler Journeyman License
  • ~3-year AFSA Apprentices with current MA-SA card will be considered
  • ~Minimum of 2-3 years field experience in Fire Sprinkler Inspections and service
  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Fire and/or Life Safety Systems experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to safely and effectively use general hand tools and power tools
  • Capability of using various aerial lifts and boom trucks
  • 3-5 years of proven success in performance of Sprinkler inspection, installation, and service is highly preferred
  • NICET Certification in Inspection & Testing of Water-Based Systems and/or Water-Based Systems Layout, preferred
